Pedu Lake or Ampangan Pedu as known locally, is located in the state of
Kedah, Malaysia. It lies at latitude 6 degrees 15 minutes, longitude 100
degrees 46 minutes at the height of 59.0 meters above mean sea level. The lake
has the characteristics of a sea with both low tide and high tide. At maximum
water level, the lake is 97.5m deep (320 feet).This man-made lake, is 75 sq km
in area, is surrounded by primary tropical rainforests. It is part of the
catchment area for the Pedu Dam in which water is stored to irrigate the padi
fields on the plains of Kedah.
Located 90km from the state capital Alor Setar and served by good roads, it is easily accessible.

Visitors should also not limit their adventures to daytime alone. When night falls and silence descends, one can hear the crackling calls of jungle insects, the occasional hooting of night owls, and the strange cries of wild animals. It is a world where the nocturnal animals dominate. Yet the moon high above the lake and the shimmering surface of the lake provides such peaceful and romantic feelings.

范围宽达120公顷地段的柏鲁湖泊位于吉打南边，蕴藏许多大自然财富，是国内难得的天然休闲区之一.从亚罗士打开车到柏鲁湖泊，得先经过波各先那和瓜拉尼浪，沿着指示牌走个九转十八湾，车程约要1小时30分钟。
若从槟城开车，就从莪仑高速公路的出口弯右，沿路经过仁岭，锡区，古娄（Gulau）和古比（Gubir），就可直穿柏鲁潮泊度假区。这一路车程大约2小时，会较费时.路程中，有经过几个小市镇，停车休息可品尝镇上小吃，一路可见绿油油的两行树林，微风轻拂下，大自然正向你招手，接近湖泊区域，隐约可见湖泊美姿。
在柏鲁湖，且把工作压力及生活上的苦闷置之度外，尽情投入水上运动如垂钓、水上摩多、划船等.多数游客都有垂钓嗜好，湖中有大量鱼获，也有饲养繁殖鱼场，鱼场有苏丹鱼、塘虱鱼、淡水白鱼等。
四周都被自然森林包围，野生动物踪影处处可见，你可亲眼看看野生蜜蜂如何采花蜜，加上许多大自然生态，此处是野生探险者喜爱的探险胜地。
